**** Button Club be well Buttons ***

It is so fun to design a project for the Fat Quarter Shop's Button Club. I like to have the buttons sit on my desk for awhile. That lets me find a fabric or a inspiration to start the pattern.  The setup buttons I really love the Buffalo flat fabric and I was seeing the plaid as a spool of thread.

It is so fun to design a project for the Fat Quarter Shop's Button Club. I like to have the buttons sit on my desk for awhile, it' lets me find a fabric or a inspiration to start the pattern.  The purple and yellow were my inspiration and when i found the Tula Pink Monkey Wrench fabric, I had to do big flowers! Something FREE & Springy.. A Cottage Garden + a bit more... from Pat Sloan's Blog

*** Taking our Pulse ***

How are you friend?

I thought it was worth repeating today my 'Let It Go!' Daily challenge. Because it's good to take a pause and be sure we are on the right track with things. Not getting to crazy.  It's good to hit the reset button too and just breath a bit.

Life is upside down for so many right now.... actually for most of us. Even if your area has few virus cases, you are still needing to change most of how you operate in order to not transmit and to be safe.

Pat sloan 2020 Frost Button club 1c

** Button Club FREE Pattern **

I've been designing patterns to use the Fat Quarter Shop's button club for several years now. I love doing small projects to showcase the buttons!

This month we have a darling box with little letters for FROST and it has a penguin, snowman, stars, moon and a polar bear button!  It's a lot of fun for me to come up with a cute design to show off the buttons.

Sunday Quilt Inspiration: Buttons (again) from Fleur de Lis Quilts and Accessories

One of my most popular posts is this one on buttons. Interestingly, just yesterday (which was Sunday, I'm a day late posting) I found a place to exhibit the quilt mentioned in that post. Anyway I thought it serendipitous enough to pull another SQI from the idea. So, first a few buttons from this board....

FREE Wreaths for Everyone! (pattern that is...) from Pat Sloan's Blog

Pat Sloan Nov Button club pic 1

*** Project ***

My FREE wreath pattern is very quick to do!  And I must say I gave myself a challenge with this one that I'll explain below.  The Fat Quarter Shop's button club kit is called 'Jolly' so I used the letters on the sashing! Then decorated the wreath with the super cute buttons.

My Pattern Download is after my tutorial below along with the fabrics and supplies I used

Repairs from Fleur de Lis Quilts and Accessories

Rory dropped off a couple of items that needed some work. First, the girls' uniforms needed belt loops. I didn't have any of the plaid and the navy that is closest to the one one the uniforms is definitely not a perfect match.

It's not about perfection, though. It's about following the rules and the rules say belt loops are required.

The other item that he left is this pair of shorts which needed a button replaced. I was searching the pockets for the old button in case he had kept it and discovered two buttons sewn ...

Sunday Quilt Inspiration: BUTTONS from Fleur de Lis Quilts and Accessories

One of my most popular SQI posts is from this one back in 2013. I thought that since it's a favorite, we could revisit the idea. So, the idea is the same; the pictures are updated. Let's start with creative ways to use buttons.

La Droguerie from Quilting Stories

La Droguerie

La Droguerie

La Droguerie

A little trip to Paris last week. And for me, going to Paris means visiting and shopping at La Droguerie, my favorite haberdasher's shop. They have their own production and dyeing of great quality yarns. In this wonderful shop you can find quilting fabrics, Liberty fabrics, all sorts of threads, buttons, beads, ribbons... as well as catalogues with their great patterns for children or adults.

I remember when this shop was created in 1975, I was one of their first customer and so happy to find cashmere yarn, out of which I knitted a sweater for the one who ...
