Happy Easter Weekend from Collector with a Needle

We are hosting Easter Dinner on Sunday so i thought I would post now.
All things spring are happening around here!
Warm Weather, greening grass and the tips of perennials showing in the mulch.
I am especially happy as my Yellow Peony is showing signs of healthy spring growth!

I have not done much spring decorating, it has been busy and I'm not sure I have time to also put it all away for summer.
I'll share some spring photos of past years.

The bunny in this photo is my pattern, and I embroidered and beaded her outfit ...

Flopsie Bunny from Quilt Doodle Doodles

We sure have been enjoying the spring weather here in Minnesota. I have spring fever so bad and have taken the time to check out my perennial gardens even though it's way too early for me to uncover anything. Since I can't be outside yet playing in the garden, I have been designing some springtime designs to applique. I have another fun one for spring or Easter.... Flopsie Bunny.
To make the design, first trace out all of the pieces onto the heat n bond fusible interfacing. (Or what ever brand you like to use) Iron it onto ...

Easter Stocking from Georgia Girl Quilter

Why not have an Easter Stocking!
Christmas doesn't have to be the only holiday that stockings are used.

My daughter who is late 20 something still enjoys getting an Easter Basket for Easter AND since she's my only child I still enjoy putting one together for her. But now since we are many states away from each other the basket needs to be mailed! I was contemplating the cost of mailing and thinking I can just send her a gift card to the local grocery store and she can buy the candy, use a previous basket and put ...

Little Bunny Butts.... from Quilt Doodle Doodles

What's cuter then a little baby's butt, well a bunny butt. Who can resist the cuteness of that fluffy cotton ball tail? I just had to draw one up to do heat n bond applique with. The bunnies usually play havoc with my garden so I have a bunny proof fence now. All of my perennials are bunny and deer proof so that I can enjoy the blooms too! But the bunnies have been known to dig up and eat my potted plants that I have on my deck.

To make the design, first trace out all of ...

Hippity Hop! from Quilt Doodle Doodles

Well, you can't have Easter without some cute bunnies. So I made up a really cute bunny mug rug for you. This pattern is super quick and easy. I whipped these up last weekend, the same time I was making my little chickens.
I like to use the embroidery stitches on my machine to make the
bunny's eyes and whiskers.

I made up a few in different colors, using fabric from
my fabric stash.
This fun pattern can be found on Etsy as instant downloadable PDF's. There's still time to whip a couple of these up ...

Laura Heine Fabric Collage Class Now Open from Quilted Joy

After an overwhelming response from folks loving all the Laura Heine quilts we’ve been posting from our last class, we’ve decided to offer the class again! In this class we will explore the fabric collage technique that defines the Laura Heine style quilts. We will spend a great deal of time considering value and contrast in an effort to add dimensional aspects to our animals. This is a great class to learn not only a technique but also a way of looking at how to select fabric and color for the right effect.
