Successful weekend equals 2 tops! from Stitchin' Therapy

I got out and enjoyed some sun over our nice weekend.  Yet, I still managed to finish up those rows and join the sections of the blended 4 patch.

I had just enough fabric to add a 3'' border around the whole thing to give it a firm finish.  It now looks complete to me.

Confession to make......my final layout and sewing arrangement did not exactly match the screenshot on the post for the recipe.    My four patches are rotated in the outer round, but it works anyway!  I sure wasn't going to do any un-sewing.

Gypsy baby quilt

Being unable to spend hours and hours quilting as I used to do in the past, due to pains in the back, I just quilted this baby quilt with big stitches, following the sides of the small squares of the four patch blocks, using variegated colored threads. The final result is quite pleasant.

courthouse steps quilt from Making A Lather

Slowly, I have been making Bonnie Hunter's wonky log cabin quilt using my strings and crumbs bins. Her pattern calls for 120 blocks and I have one done already that size, but this one, I have started putting it together with 72 blocks. I want to see if 8 x 9 looks like a decent size. the blahs . . . from Count it *all* JOY!

Todd and I both kicked off Thanksgiving week with the crud.  He went to the doc on Monday; I went on Wednesday.  Luckily we had delayed our Thanksgiving celebration until Friday (to be able to celebrate with Joc and her family), but both of us left the doctor's office with antibiotics (among other meds), which meant by the time we celebrated, we both felt better, but still not great. It is what it is.  The two of us spent Thursday quietly.  We watched my one of my favorite Christmas movies . . .
The Homecoming.  It was the pilot for The Walton ...

From panels to tops from Stitchin' Therapy

Working away and making a huge mess in the sewing room.  I will have to take a few days next week to get things back in order.

First up......from Panel to top is the seasonal throw.  The color is not good on the outer border....it is all in gray tones.  It reminds me of looking out thru a window with stained glass around it.  I have the red dot backing cut, washed and pressed.  Ready for pinning to quilt.  The binding is cut and ready to stitch together.
It may have taken a couple of design tries to ...
