Winter Village Block of the Month Quilt from The Cutting Table Quilt Blog - A Blog for Quilters by Quilters

Winter Village Block of the Month Quilt

A bear spends the winter months snuggled deep inside his cozy den. He snores away the chilly days with not a care in the world. I must admit, I do the same, but instead of sleep, I quilt! This year, I’ll be working on a charming new Block of the Month by Edyta Sitar.

Quilting Buddies Come to Quilted Joy from Quilted Joy

Quilting can be a very solitary activity. But isn’t everything better when you can do it with a friend? Here at Quilted Joy, we have five longarm quilting machines that we rent. We will often get pairs of ladies that come in together to quilt. They each have their own machine, and they’ll chat and help each other with quilt design and thread choices. This can be a super fun activity to share with a friend. Find yourself some quilting buddies and come to Quilted Joy!

Nancy’s Patchwork Sampler Quilt from Quilted Joy

How sweet is this patchwork sampler quilt Nancy asked me to quilt for her?

Patchwork Sampler Quilt

I’ve had the opportunity to see many different sampler quilts over the years. I still believe sampler quilts and blocks of the month are a great way to learn piecing. New quilters get the opportunity to learn in small bite sized chunks and experienced quilters can get a refreshers. Everybody wins, right?

June OMG: Done and Done from Patchwork Sampler Blog

With Independence Day around the corner these patriotic quilts were perfect for June’s One Monthly Goal. After not completing May’s OMG, I needed the satisfaction of finishing something!!  It was another busy month but I had just enough time to finish the tops and quilt them. Then some hand stitching bindings while watching World Cup soccer was all it took. These were old, old UFO’s–so old in fact that I can no longer find the patterns for them in my sewing room.

I was pretty sure this was a Pat Sloan design, but I couldn’t ...

Cheri’s Arcadia Ave Quilt! from Quilted Joy

Quilts stand out for different reasons. Some have lots of bold colors, and others have bold intricate designs. Cheri’s quilt had both. Cheri completed this Block of the Month quilt at the Cozy Quilter called Arcadia Avenue. It is resplendent with the bold bright jewel tones on not only the front, but the backing fabric as well. Add to that the varied and intricate designs of the blocks and you have a quilt that just hits it out of the park.

Cheri made the stunning Arcadia Ave block of the month quilt and asked me to quilt it for her. She chose a fun spiral pantograph with a rainbow variegated thread for a little extra pizzazz!

The blocks are made up of every color in every block. Along with the bright glowing colors, each ...
