Growing from From the Strawberry Patch...

There are lots of things going on, and growing on, around here. Despite my best intentions, my "to do" list is one of those things that grows out of control, like Kudzu, and thwarts all attempts to keep up with posting here. Gregory has turned eleven years old this month. Eleven! One thing that doesn't seem to to grow is available time: that shrinks! Seriously. How can it be November already?

Feeling Fall-ish from From the Strawberry Patch...

I've got a million explanations for where I've been. None of them sound nearly as exciting as the truth-- we've been super busy and here, there and everywhere since I last posted; and, while we've been gone, the seasons have changed! I got this pumpkin wall hanging quilted and off the rails before we left. The binding was attached by machine but the handwork was left for the monotonous hours of

Fast-Forward Once Again! from From the Strawberry Patch...

Here's the second sampler quilt top from the bin of old blocks-of-the-month; this one, also, from 2007! As explained in the previous post, I had stashed the blocks along with fabric purchased at the time for finishing; I'm SEW glad that I did that! The extra green and dark red came in handy for those cornerstones in the pieced sashing. I found this setting idea in Sharyn Craig's Setting Solutions

A New Design Has Launched! from Where Art & Life Meet

It’s been a whirlwind of activity around here. I turned 60 last week and took the day off! My husband organized the most fabulous little dinner for me up on our roof. He and my son decorated with flowers and fairy lights; it was magical. My BFF cooked an amazing dinner and brought a HUGE… Continue reading A New Design Has Launched!

Birthdays, Patreon, Youtube & Exploring New Things from Where Art & Life Meet

Remember when women were coy about their age? We weren’t supposed to say how old we were, so much so that people said, “don’t ever ask a women her age” and I think the ending to that was “or a man his salary” or something like that. Maybe some people still say that, but the… Continue reading Birthdays, Patreon, Youtube & Exploring New Things

Awful Night, Farm Sampler Box, Birds and Blocks and Hubby Has a Birthday! from Canadian Needle Nana

Recently I had the most awful of nights.

Murphy woke me around 3 am with a very sharp bark and simultaneously it seems I heard too what she did.  A very loud but soft thud.  I got the flash light and looked all through the rooms to see if something had fallen off a shelf or toppled over. Just like the t.v. detectives do (have you ever noticed they never turn on overhead lights; just use their itty bitty flashlights to search). Not a thing out of place.  I've watched enough movies to know not to go down ...

Wait. What? July 7th from Fleur de Lis Quilts and Accessories

Already? The last week has flown by. I'm not really sure when I slept.

I'm kidding, of course.  There has just been so much going on. First, my very sad news is that our sweet little Cottontop, who has been my constant companion for over 17 years, went to puppy heaven last Wednesday. It's extremely sad to miss him so much, but he was getting in pretty bad shape, blindness from glaucoma, painful hips, confusion. I am happy that he is no longer suffering. Seventeen years is old and we have been expecting it for a long ...
