On My Sewing Table Today from Life in the Scrapatch


I am sewing the rows together for my





I am making this Quilt For My Guy and he chose the fabrics and block idea.

He has bee very patient while I put this aside to work on a few other commitments.


I have half of the top together and hope to finish it tonight
and get it onto my long arm soon.

Batik Quilt Top Progress from Life in the Scrapatch


My Quilty Kitties and I are making good progress on piecing the top of my



Here are eight of the ten rows pinned up on my design wall 
with the early morning sunshine filling my east side of my home.


Here are the last two rows on my sewing table
 with the border fabric that my hubby picked out at our local quilt shop over the weekend
and the long sashing strips laid out between the rows.

We hope to have this top together by the end of today.

Getting Ready For Sewing Along Today from Life in the Scrapatch


Early in the day I like to organize my sewing plans with my morning coffee. 

I was laying out my next batik blocks for my hubby when he wandered through 
with his morning cup, so I asked him for his input.
We played with the cut pieces and this is what he chose.
It is nice to be making a quilt with my hubby,
Usually he just says something like "you do well" when I ask his opinion
and leaves me to my own quilty designing.
Because this quilt is for him, he has been more proactive in the choices ...

Merrily I Design Along from Life in the Scrapatch


This is a "Design As I Sew" Quilt

My quilty muse knows where we are going.
I am just following along...
and doing all the cutting and sewing.

I am thinking that the unfinished block size for this quilt may be 9 inches.

This is for the




Block A 

My first block measures 9.5", unfinished, right now.
The plan is to cut it down to 9" to accommodate other stack and cut pieces
to make a few different blocks that measure 8.5" 
when sewn into the quilt.
