Stained Glass Project 27, 28 from Virtual Quilter

I like the design of the first one, but the colouring is a bit dull … but it is cloudy at the moment, so maybe that is the problem!

Love the second design!

Kelly’s Custom Quilts 23, 24 from Virtual Quilter

Not sure that I got the background colour change right, but I like the design.

Deleted the contrast background in some places, but not all in teh second design.

Must do better tomorrow!

Beth’s Brunsvigia Quilts 17, 18 from Virtual Quilter

Love the one above …

… and the next one more!

I have been away from home for a couple of days with fellow quilters, so today’s first job is to get my feet back on the ground, back in the land of reality.

Before Pompeii 13, 14 from Virtual Quilter

This series started with some ideas about changing Double Wedding Ring blocks, and moved on until there were no Wedding Rings in sight.

I like the first …

… and love the second.

Just a bit of playing with blocks has improved the centre to my liking.

Brandis Street Blocks 1, 2, 3, 4 from Virtual Quilter

When we shifted into one of ten houses we have lived in I found a piece of very old lino lining the bottom of a drawer. It was at the point of falling to bits, so I put it in a plastic bag for safe keeping … I liked the look of the design even if it was beyond any use.

I eventually got most of our belongings unpacked, then made some time to play with the shapes in the design. The blocks, all 150 plus of them, have been on file for a couple of years, but i had never ...

Ann’s Album Q ‘n’ A 17, 18 from Virtual Quilter

Love the first design, inparticular, I love the sashing … where it is visible.

Where it doesn’t show up I have coloured the sashing strips with the background fabric.

I like the second one too.

Round Robin Medallions 9, 10 from Virtual Quilter

Love the change in scale of one of the border designs!

The second designs is a bit too busy for my taste.

Dogwood Stars from Nestlings By Robin

Welcome Dogwood Stars
featuring Connecting Threads'
new fabric line.......
https://www.connectingthreads.com/dogwood-stars-wall-hanging-kit/p/99367

During testing I made my
own version using these
fabrics because the
color way spoke to me
but wasn't available yet.
I am a sucker for pretty
much any fabric with
script on it!!

This design has simple
piecing along with
fusible applique'.

The diamonds in the border
sections are all applique'
vs. piecing so cut and stick:)

These little tweezers make
placement of small pieces
so much easier.
sheet so that these bits
are all applied making
completed flowers BEFORE
fusing to ...

Gnomes for Christmas 1, 2 from Virtual Quilter

The gnomes have moved from watching over the garden to watchin over the parcels under the tree.

Perhaps by next Christmas they might set up their own Christmas display in the garden, instead of invading the house.

Christmas Patch Play 5, 6 from Virtual Quilter

Not especially Christmassy, but a nice design to snuggle up under on a cold Christmas day.

I think I would like the design above in many other colour combinations.

EQ Dozen + 41, 42 from Virtual Quilter

Experimenting with sashing which is sometimes visible in contrast fabric, sometimes hiding in block background fabric!

I love the first design.

Like the second one too.

Blocks in Borders 11, 12, 13, 14 from Virtual Quilter

Oh, so sweet!

This project file is pretty much all so sweet … a combination of dainty block designs and pretty colours.

I am slowly retiring project files, and this is one making it’s farewell appearance today.

I am well on the way to sorting blocks designs, which has included a lot of redrawing blocks, and will start using the new blocks, and associated quilting motifs, in new projects in the hopefully not too distant future. Will have to keep this selection of fabrics in mind for one of the new projects.

By the way, I use fabrics in the ...

Birds in the Orchard 15, 16 from Virtual Quilter

I love this applique design, but should have added quilting motifs in those empty spaces!

Or some birds would be nice!

Quilting required in this one too, but I like it … at least there are birds.

Patch Play 25, 26 from Virtual Quilter

Interesting border, though not sure that it works as well as it could.

I like the border change … and the overall design.

Of course, room for quilting always works for me!

Birds in the Orchard 13, 14 from Virtual Quilter

Lots of space to quilt! I think I would basically cross hatch, but add a few flying birds swooping and gliding over the surface.

No birds on the second design, but the little fountains and the apple trees are sure to attract them sometime.

Again, lots of space to quilt, and once again I would keep it simple, with straight lines echoing those narrow borders, and yes, those birds would be flying around.

The last couple of days I have noticed a lot of birds flying around in addition to the few small birds which fly around the garden catching ...

After Pompeii 53, 54 from Virtual Quilter

Lots of space for quilting, and as there are no Wedding ring blocks amongst the applique, I would try to incorporate quilted Wedding Rings.

Quilted Wedding Rings would be a simple way of filling in the spaces reserved for quilting too.

Stained Glass Project 20, 21, 22 from Virtual Quilter

I don’t have time to learn to create stained glass, and no space to set up a lead lighting workshop, so I am wondering if anyone has thought of creating the software and hardware to print designs on glass , or even perspex, so art work could be displayed in windows! Interesting concept.

I have spent a lot of time over the last week sorting blocks in my Electric Quilt libraries, and I think the stained glass blocks are sorted ready to add a name and put in the new, tidy, library.

We are not in total lockdown, but there ...
