2019 Finish Along: Second Quarter Ambitions from Life In Pieces

We are already at the end of the second week in April,  almost half way through the first month of the second quarter.  The linky party for the Second Quarter 2019 Finish Along is up and running.

So it's time to focus on what might become a finish before the end of the quarter.  Back in December of last year, I put together a list of quilts to finish up in 2019.  So far only one quilt has come off the list, but I'm close too finishes on the next two.  So those will definitely go on the ...

April finish along from Making A Lather

A sunshiney day and, a sunshine quilt that is finished. I took advantage of sunshine to take photos of another quiltville mystery quilt finished. This grand illusion is the second one I have done. The first one was in the recommended colors, and, this one, I used Denise Schmidt fabrics.

This is my 14th finished mystery quilt with 4 more to go.  There are only 16 mystery quilts but, I did 2 of 2 different mysteries. To see them go here.

This is #3 on my list for the 2019 finish along. I almost had it done in the 1st ...

Weekend Stitching: How's it Going? from Life In Pieces

Weekend's are definitely too short.  March was too short. April marks the start of the second quarter of 2019.  One fourth of the year is already over.  There's still three quarters of the year left. Seems like a good time to check on how well I'm doing with those lofty quilty goals outlined in this post for the 2019 Planning Party.

First goal was UFO reduction.  The strategy for 2019 was to pick and prioritize 12 quilts.  I'd start with #1 on the list and work on it till it was done and then move on ...

Weekend Stitching: Finally a Finish from Life In Pieces

Spring finally made an appearance this weekend.  Temperatures hit the high 60's with lots of sun.  Even better, it's spring break time so the Scientist in Training made it back to town Friday evening in time for dinner.  This is her first trip home since the start of spring semester. It's been nice to have her home, though she's spent most of Saturday crashed out on the couch and then most of Saturday evening working on homework. She'll be home all week, so we've got plans for some fun stuff.  Consequently stitching may or ...

2019 Finish Along Projects from Blended Fabric Quilts | Good Earth Quilting | Organic Quilting Cotton

I have soooo many things to finish, I don't know if I can even come up with a list of it all.

#FAL2019 really got me thinking. I have to get serious about finishing my work. I confess, I do tend to lean towards eclectic. I walk with my hand of creation diaily and the load gets heavier instead of lighter.

When I opened a drawer of two of unfinished projects, I closed it immediately! Phuef! That was close to a stressful moment. I am avoiding stress in any form these days. But after a while, the drawer memory ...

cleveland finish from Making A Lather

My Cleveland rug is finished. I used yarn to whip the edges that I dyed myself. This was a free pattern from the 2017 Atha (association of traditional rug hooking artists) biennial in Cleveland. My husband and I attended and had a great time. This year, the biennial is in Denver, and I am interested in attending. It is sad how easy it is to talk yourself out of anything fun.

A friend at Friday group was working on the binding for her Minecraft quilt. This is for her son who loves minecraft. She is a professional longarmer. and made ...

2019 Finish Along: Along for the Ride Again from Life In Pieces

We are in the second week of January already.  If you can get past this week with your dieting and exercise goals for 2019 on track, you are doing better than most.  Usually the quilty goals are still on track at this point.  We'll see if that is still true at the end of the month.  Staying focused on one project seems to be my best strategy for getting quilts done, so hopefully participating the 2019 Finish Along will help me keep that focus.

Since I'm also committed to the APQ UFO Challenge, I've already drafted a ...

rug hooking and finish along from Making A Lather

I am joining in with the 2019 finish along at She can quilt. I have several goals for the quarter. Some I have already mentioned in my one monthly goal post, But this is for the quarter, and should include what I want to completely finish in the next 3 months.
I have it in my mind to get my Cleveland rug done. I think background goes quicker than the design, And I am making good progress.

For the quarter, I also want to finish the fish jar quilt

orca bay mystery quilt

celtic solstice

and a flannel rag ...
