Fall Is In The Air… I Can Feel It!! … Mistakes Fixed on Row Along Also… from Seams To Be Sew

Hi All, Are you feeling a little bit of fall in the air? I know I am and I couldn’t be more thrilled…  I love the cool air. I know many people love summer because it gets them outside in there gardens, or enjoying the beach, camping, travelling etc… For me tho, summer literally keeps me inside. When I was younger I was a big gardener tho and would still do it but in this house we have very little of a back yard so I can’t garden sadly. This is meant to be a really quick post ...

My Featured Day for My Favorite Quilt Block Blog Hop… from Seams To Be Sew

I’m so crazy, what in the heck was I thinking… right in the middle of a row along I signed up for this hop, knowing full well how busy I’d be. I did not create a project for this hop, I just didn’t have the time. I had an idea, but it just never came about. So, I decided to take this post in a different direction. It still fits in with the theme of this blog hop so that I can properly post, but I am sorry there is no finished project to show you other ...

Once Upon A Story RAL – Day 03 from Seams To Be Sew

Today is the third day in the row along. I hope you are having fun following us along to each designers blog and seeing what goodies she has in store for you each day. Even tho I have seen the rows each designer has done, I saw them back in June in there drafts. I haven’t seen the finished patterns since that time, so each day for me is also as new for you as it is for me. I love seeing how the fabrics worked out in there row pattern and reading about how they chose the design ...

Coming October 1st is my all time favorite event for the year. Please don’t get me wrong, I love Block of the Months, Quilt Alongs, and other fun events that go on thru the year, but the one I’ll call a “temporary” event is the Wooly Block Adventure Event. Since I found out about the Wooly Block Adventure event in 2016, and was actually participating in it during our move back to the states that year I have thoroughly enjoyed this event. I got to do a bit of pay if forward with this event in 2016 when ...

It’s hard to beleve that we are just 5 days now from the start of the row along. August always seems to go by so darn fast since I started the row along 5 years ago last March. The Wayback Machine and 5 New BOTM/SAL’s Added… from Seams To Be Sew

Hi Everyone, I’ve a little bug going on with my site at the moment, it has to be due to some of the wordpress updates lately. I’m working to try and find it. It seems to affect older pages on this site and not the newer ones tho, but if you try reloading the page you may see it also, it kinda looks like the path to the images. The bug affects all images, so I’ll be testing my plugins over the next few days to see which are current and which aren’t. I’m hoping ...

Diamonds Are Forever… from Seams To Be Sew

When I signed up for this blog hop it was in my mind to show off the baby blanket I had just finished for my new grand nephew who was born at the end of January. I spent each day working on this quilt for just a little bit of time over the last year or so, and all of the blocks were created entirely in my machine embroidery hoop. Sadly, when I went to take the pictures off the camera today something has happened to the flash card and every file on the card seems to be corrupted… I ...

Stripes and Strings… All About Strings Today At Seams To Be Sew… from Seams To Be Sew

Tis quite funny as I prepared for this hop with my project, I kept thinking Stripes and not Strings, but quite by accident my project fits into both words… A big thanks to Carla for hosting this blog hop theme and I must say I am looking forward to what everyone created. I once made a striped quilt, back in the 90’s, Jinny Beyer did quite a few lines with border type stripes that became popular to fussy cut your shapes out of and then combine them to create a new look to the print. It was an awesome ...

I love blog hops, they are so much fun and it is a great way for me to see things that people are doing around the web. I try to get to every site during a blog hop so that I can see what everyone is doing. I don’t normally just visit one post for there featured day, but I look thru the last few posts because it’s fun to see what they have been doing and especially sites that I don’t get to very often. Novelty fabrics have long been a favorite fabric type of mine ...

Day 4 and the Last Day of Quilt Qwazy Queens… from Seams To Be Sew

I’m always sad on the last day of a blog hop… this one has been really fun seeing the crazy projects, whether you think they are crazy or not, sometimes it’s just the story behind the project that makes it really crazy as we have all seen so far. Coming soon to Seams To Be Sew is a new blog hop just before Summer rolls in and I am hoping we will see some cool projects with it again. I’ll be announcing it on Friday as tomorrow I am planning the release of Twas the Night Blocks ...

As always, these events just seem to pass by so quickly. Its hard to believe that tomorrow will be the last day but so far and I know you might agree with me its’ been great seeing all the craziness happening in our little quilt world here on the net. I love the internet, how else would I ever get to see all the gorgeous quilts and projects that are created by others. Quilt Qwazy Queens Starts Today… from Seams To Be Sew

It’s that time of the year again when Worldwide Quilting Day rolls around to what seems to always be the third Saturday in March. I’m kinda waiting for the 1st of March to fall on a Sunday to see if that date changes, but I won’t know until next year when it will finally fall on a Sunday. Next year it will either fall on the 14th or the 21st. We shall see

My Craziest Project…. Today For QQQ… New Patterns Released Also… from Seams To Be Sew

My project is a wearable. When I first started quilting back in 1988, it never occurred to me to make wearables as a quilted project. At that time, rotary cutters were not even a widely used product in the quilting world. I had already been using a rotary cutter for cutting patterns with for clothing. I used drapery weights instead of pins for my patterns and then cut around those patterns with a rotary cutter. Suffice it to say when I took my first quilting class in January of 1988, I blew everyone in class away with how fast I ...

Another BOTM?… Possibly!! from Seams To Be Sew

This one is not necessarily a Block of the Month type project, but more of a technique of the month type project. However, it is limited in that the workbook tutorial files are located for download in Jeanne’s Facebook group. To my knowledge, Jeanne doesn’t have a blog or website where she can offer these other than on Facebook. To me tho, if you’re not on Facebook, you are truly missing out on all the great goings-on that happen with it. So many great groups and so much inspiration. I guess some would say the same about ...

Coming this Friday, March 15, is Quilt Qwazy Queens. I hold this event each year to honor Worldwide Quilting Day. It’s one of my favorite events of the year. Each year I pick a different theme for this event which I hope will be fun for everyone. This year I asked bloggers to show us there craziest projects they ever made. It could include crazy fabric, or something that turned out just fun and wacky, or could use various materials to make a quilt like a project. I can’t wait to see what everyone shows off starting this ...
