Q3 2018 Finish-A-Long, Finish 2 from 120 Blocks

When I finished the lace scarf that I did for my Craftsy class, I decided I needed to do something a little easier to solidify my lace knitting skills, so I started this scarf. (The color in this photo is … Continue reading

August Happenings... from Sew Some Sunshine

Time is always flying by, and this summer has been no different.  I was lucky to have a week off for vacation, and spent some quality time locally with my family, and my sewing machine!  I was able to finish my Carnival quilt top and put together the back, which included a fun strip of coordinating charm squares.

I pulled out my Anna Maria Horner scrappy trip blocks, got them back on my design wall and sewed those together.  Can you believe these were in a drawer since 2016?  Glad to have them sewn up.  Here's a sneak peak ...

A Brief Update from 120 Blocks

I’m sorry that my blogging is so sporadic. Somehow writing doesn’t seem to be something I’m inspired to do much of lately. There are so many other things needing my time right now. Grrr! Anyway, I have made some serious … Continue reading

2018 Finish-A-Long Quarter 2 from Sew Some Sunshine

For the second quarter of the Finish-A-Long, I'm rolling over a few projects from last quarter.  I've made progress on some of these so hopefully, I can keep the momentum going.

First is my Carnival quilt, I now have four rows done on this one.

Second is my Delilah quilt, I have most of the top together now, so the goal is to quilt it and bind.  You can see more about this quilt here and get inspiration here.

Third is my AMH scrappy trip, not much progress, but this one needs to stay on so I can ...

Second Q2 2018 Finish-A-Long Finish from 120 Blocks

This finish is another non-quilty finish. I had the knitting pretty much finished but I had to watch enough different Craftsy classes to feel comfortable blocking it! So here it is: The Ocean Waves Lace Scarf. The first picture is … Continue reading

First Q2 2018 Finish-A-Long Finish from 120 Blocks

Back a few weeks, I was heading out to Tuesday afternoon stitching (most of the other people knit but I’m not really a knitter) but I hadn’t prepared any new La Passacaglia pieces and I’m at a point where I … Continue reading

Dreamweaver Quilt from Sew Some Sunshine

Today I have a big finish to share...literally as it is a king size bed quilt!  When I saw this pattern online done in Anna Maria Horner's Fibs and Fables line, I knew I wanted to make it for my bedroom.  Although I love Fibs and Fables, it's more youthful than the look I wanted.  I decided on her Mod Corsage line as a more grown-up alternative.  It's such a gorgeous collection of floral prints in different styles.

This was a relatively easy quilt to put together, although I did construct it a bit differently than ...

2018 Finish-A-Long Quarter 1 from Sew Some Sunshine

The 2018 Finish-A-Long has started and I'm going to make a short list for the first quarter.  I try to limit my WIPs but I do have a few, so here goes.

There is a (very small) chance that I might have all of my Delilah quilt done since February is the last month of this template of the month program.  We'll see how it goes.  If you're working on this also, check this out for more inspiration.

I actually have this quilt almost finished, it's a big king sized bed quilt.  I need to make ...
