Purple Haze 17, 18 from Virtual Quilter

The 9 Patch blocks are not as complicated as they look … especially the outer with 8 of the 9 squares just the background fabric.

I love the second design, and it has a lot of plain squares scattered all over the design.

New Stitch Along: A Stitcher’s Alphabet from Jo's Country Junction

When Nashville Needlework Market came out, Liz, from the Stitchery Nook, and I were on the hunt for some small projects I’d like to do as stitch-alongs and she’d like to kit up to offer. Sometimes it’s a hard find…sometimes they come easier. We had our picks and were so excited about them. We had …

New EPP Template! from Adventurous Quilter

I am starting a new EPP project!

I have a Tupperware container of 2" square civil war style fabric scraps that I want to work with.

So I designed a tumbler template for them!
You can download the template PDF here: My Download Website
I can't believe how tiny these are! I am just going to start and decide later if this will be a quilt center, table runner or cushion cover. I've never worked with templates this small so I might hate it who knows! LOL.
The resulting tumblers are super cute though!
Stay tuned to see ...

Nathan's round robin from Fabric Engineer

A long while ago, Liz suggested that I make a quilt hanging for Nathan's office because it was cold and boring.  She had made a blanket for his office, so Christmas 2022 she brought the yarn she had used and I color matched it with fabric so that I could match the current blanket.  I decided to make a round robin style quilt.  I thought that all the different shapes on the blanket would lend themselves well to that style.

Here's the original blanket:

The colors I used were Kona putty, old green, bluebell, taupe, dresden blue, saffron ...

Week 15 of Nikki's Stocking from mequilter

It is more like week 15.5.
I saw the surgeon on April 16th. And he said my eye was doing well and he was really impressed with my vison of 20/60.
Of course I had two big questions could I drive and could I stitch. He said yes to both if it felt comfortable. I didn't stitch that day a Tuesday because my eye pain and irritation was the worst it had been. He increased my prednisone drops from 4 times a day to 6 times and that did make an improvement.
On Wednesday I did a ...

Design Wall Monday for 4/22/2024 from Mel's quilting blog

Small Quilts and Doll Quilts Design Wall Monday

I have a signature quilt for my grandson.

He was very ill at birth, and we had doctors and nurses sign the squares.

We also have those who attended the baby shower sign squares.

I'll be making more blocks around the outside to increase the size of the quilt and allow for any additional signatures.

The small peach and green blocks sitting to the left now have 5 blocks.

My second design wall is empty.

I'm not sure what is going up there for now.

I have some smaller items ...

April Showers Bring Aloha! from Words & Stitches

First,  my apologies for the late post.   We are on island time and I lost track of my days!  Thank you to Joan for putting all this together!  She always has the best groups!

However,  I was in a bit of a home unproven work and travel frenzy and my planned project never made it out of the starting gate.  However,  I did manage a bit of slow stitching on a herd of kitties!  Full disclosure, my friend did the creative work on these little guys,  I’m just (awkwardly and slowly) doing the final stitching.

Each cat is designed ...

On the Design Wall: Hot Hot Hot Plus Cool and Breezy from The Colorful Fabricholic

The girls in the hive finished making the blocks for the warm colorway of Scrappy Batiks and laid them out on the design wall last week at social sewing. I think this is the final layout we ended up with. Edna reminded us to turn some of the blocks to feature the diagonal chains. She's now working on sewing the blocks together.

In other quilty news, PCQ's Community Service committee has been holding a regular sew day each month as usual. We no longer have a separate designated prep day so we have to do our kit prep ...

Family party.............. from Exuberant Color

Some out of state family was in town yesterday so we had a family gathering.  I made frosted creams in the morning to take with me.

I dug 3 Sedum plants to send home with them today.

While I watched 2 shows on TV last night I sewed 8 more 3" nine patches and paired fabrics for an additional 8 blocks.  I didn't get the neutral quilt top pressed so I'll do that today and post its photo tomorrow.

It was 28 degrees when I got up early yesterday morning.  I didn't see any frost on the ...

Easy as pie baby quilts - and Finally Finished! from A Prim and (not so) Proper Quilter

Make lemonade from lemons, right? And I’m a huge fan of lemon pie.

Fifteen years ago I started a quilt (actually, several quilts were started) and did not finish it. This was back in the days of owning a quilt shop where my eyes were bigger than the time I had to get things done.

A book by Sandy Bonsib—“Sweet Treats”—had several easy-to-make quilts, each based around two blocks, and all named for pies and other desserts.

At the time, I thought it would be a good idea for a club at the quilt shop. I started ...

Monday Morning Sewing from South Jersey Quilter

 It's actually not raining!

I hadn't done anything in the sewing room for a few weeks, I've been obsessed with the cross stitch. I woke up this morning early-ish and said, I have to sew today!

I got this one put together, and laid out the next one!

Each one is made from a charm pack. Ralph nicely made med cardboard templates, 5 inches wide, and 10, 20 and 25 inches long- putting those amazon boxes to good use!

It saves a lot of up and down, as I can stack the templates beside my machine instead ...

Wooden House Wonderful Thursday Things from Canadian Needle Nana

Oh dear, over half way through April already! Time, slow down!

After days of rain, yesterday was a glorious sunny day and I spent time down by the pond watching the ducks float about. As usual they alarm very easily so this was taken from far away. I wonder if they could be the same ones we see there every year. I identified (with help from some of you) American Black Ducks for the first time visiting us last year.

This has been a good week on many levels. For instance, I've learned from so many of you how ...

Sew'n Wild Oaks Retreat Day 1 from Sew'n Wild Oaks Quilting Blog

 Hello Everyone,

The first machine started up around noon on Sunday and the girls started in quilting for the next five days.

The restaurant in Snowflake Lodge in Arnold, CA was transformed into a giant room for quilting.

The girls started in cutting and chatting.

Melody brought a quilting puzzle and many joined in putting it together.

At 6pm, we went to my cabin for an appetizer dinner.  Melody made 'Shrimp on the Barbie'.  So cute, Melody and the shrimp!

As always, the girls outdid themselves with wonderful appetizers and desserts.

The snow melted and the weather was beautiful and ...

Quilters, Quilts, Travel, Laundry! from Quiltville's Quips & Snips!

I said goodbye to Debbie's Bitter Bees Sunday morning - the hallways were busy with the moving of stuff, the packing of cars, the hugs and farewells.

I think it's safe to say a grand time was had by all - and I'm thrilled that they'll be back next March!

March? Why March?

Because Easter falls on their weekend in 2025, so they get to hop back to where Easter was this year.  It makes for interesting calendar management, I tell you!

Don't they look like a fun group?  And oh - the food they served!  Off the ...

St. Louis, Missouri from ... Cat Patches

Good morning, my friends. That title up there is a lie. When we took off yesterday, I was unaware that the City of St. Louis spans two states. As it happens, we're staying on the Illinois side in the little town of Cahokia, Illinois. Apparently, Cahokia is also known as East St. Louis. No matter. We can see Missouri across the river from where we are.

So let's talk about yesterday's drive, shall we? We headed out US 65 until we reached I-44. The road looked like this most of the way, and we were to stay ...
